Adopt-A-Detention Officer
National Detention Officer Week will be held May 4-10, 2025. During this week we want to show our appreciation for and recognize the detention officers of the Coffey County Sheriff's Office. This year we would like to give every dispatcher personal recognition by hosting an Adopt-A-Detention Officer!
Detention Officers are the part of law enforcement that are often unseen, but are so very important. They coordinate and monitor inmate movements (court, medical, etc), conduct counts, and provides emergency response as needed. They serve meals, clean up messes, and are the listening ear for inmates. They care for a population without judgement or biasness. We're proud of the service our detention officers provide to Coffey County each and every day! Help us to recognize these people on duty 24/7 365!
